GM’s Day Sales

In observance of GM’s Day, Tabletop Adventures has sales going on at two of our on-line sales sites. Take advantage of the great prices to check out our terrain and location products for fantasy, future, or modern horror settings, or try out the “Deck O’ Names” random name generators. Other items for the fantasy game master are the “Bits of Magicka” magic item products and “Shards of the Heart” NPCs. If you prefer horror, try “Against the Darkness,” a modern-day Vatican horror roleplaying game.

Our entire catalog is on sale at the Open Gaming Store. (This on-line storefront is affiliated with d20pfsrd.com, 5esrd.com, and other SRD sites.) In fact, the site is having a broad sale for GM’s Day with products up to 40% off. See the entire list at the store’s “On Sale!” page. The sale lasts to March 10th.

Meanwhile, on DriveThruRPG, all our electronic products are 40% off; check them out at the Tabletop Adventures page on DTRPG. (Note that a glitch has sometimes shown products in a list without displaying their sale prices. Click through to a product page if necessary to view the sale price because trust us – all our electronic products there are on sale!) The DriveThruRPG sitewide sale for GM’s Day includes more than 64,000 products at prices discounted as much as 40%, and continues through March 14.

One way or another,  show your appreciation for your gamemaster this GM’s Day!

GM’s Day is here!

Happy GM’s Day! March 4th is the day we celebrate Game Masters everywhere. For those of us who focus our company on “Help for the Harried Game Master,” it’s like our big holiday of the year. More information will be coming along shortly, but we just want to start by saying “Thank you” to all the GMs out there (and to ours in here), because we – all of us – couldn’t do this without you.

Humble Fantasy

Tabletop Adventures is pleased to be participating in a Humble Bundle! This is the “Dragons, Dungeons, Maps and More” Bundle organized by Frog God Games. Other participants are Troll Lord Games, Kobold Press, Cartography of Alyssa Faden, Nord Games, Total Party Kill Games, Fat Dragon Games, and Uncle Matt’s RPG Studio.

This is a 5th Edition Fantasy bundle, which means the adventures and stats-related products are geared for 5th Edition – the most recent edition of the popular fantasy RPG that involves, you know, dragons. And dungeons. That fantasy game. However, this bundle also includes more than a dozen products that are entirely system neutral – maps and miniature terrain, for instance, as well as Tabletop Adventures’ own descriptive products.

If you’re not familiar with Humble Bundle, you should know that it’s a site that allows companies to offer bundles of electronic products at stunning discounts. For example, this bundle has nearly $450 worth of electronic products for the stupidly low price of $15. On top of that, there are lower tiers for people who don’t need the full experience; you can get 11 products for a measly $1, and 27 products for just $8. (The total package is 45 products for $15.)

Humble Bundle has another key feature, though: part of every purchase goes to a charity. Frog God Games has designated Hospice of the Northwest as the charity for this particular bundle. Purchasers are allowed (and even encouraged) to pay more than the asking price of the bundle and can designate the extra go to the charity.

This great bundle, at its amazing price, will be available until about noon (Central Time) on January 9, so be sure to check it out soon! You can see all the details on the Humble Bundle website.

Samples Galore!

Everybody likes to try a sample of something before they buy it, whether it’s a bit of cheese or a few pages of a book. Well, do we have some samples for you! Originally prepared for our Anniversary the 13th (in 2017), these samplers each have tastes of 13 different products. They will be available only for a limited time, though, so get your copy soon.

First is the Tabletop Adventures Product Sampler, which covers 13 products from our modern horror, science fiction, and name generator lines. Included are samples of:

  • Against the Darkness, our Vatican horror RPG;
  • Into the Fire, an adventure scenario for Against the Darkness;
  • the Deck o’ Names products–Deck o’ Names 1Anglo-Saxon Places, Modern, and Japanese— each in both card-deck and generator formats;
  • the five sci-fi Destinations products (Spaceport Black Orchard, Cantinas and More, Charon’s Wall, Repair Station 7-Osiris, and Spaceport Trident Vespa);
  • Into the Future: Derelict Starships, which is descriptions of what explorers might find inside such an item; and
  • Halls of Horror, descriptions that might fit any modern-era ‘spooky house.’

It is a single PDF, about 14 MB big, and can be downloaded by clicking here: Tabletop Adventures Products Sampler

The other item is our Fantasy Sampler, with pieces from all our terrain description products, as well as magic items and our city description and NPC products. It includes:

  • Bits of Darkness: Caverns, Dungeons, and Dungeons II;
  • Bits of Magicka: Mystic Writings, Pocket Items, and Rings and Jewels;
  • Bits of the Boulevard;
  • Bits of the Wilderness: Into the Mountains, Into the Open, Into the Swamp, and Into the Wildwood;
  • Shards of the City; and
  • Shards of the Heart

It is also a single PDF, of about 18 MB, which can be downloaded by clicking here: Tabletop Adventures Fantasy Sampler

Since these are special anniversary samplers, we’re making them available around the time of our anniversary as a company, in July. Since we got a bit of a late start this year, we expect to keep them available this time until mid-August. Pass the word on if you know someone else who would be interested, and have fun with this little taste of creativity!

Minty Fresh!

In general, we think secret pages on our website are cool. They are not so cool, though, when they have been added by some random Japanese hacker who is using the site to boost the signal for… Japanese mini-blinds??

But, we know a guy, and he took care of removing… well, not ALL the weirdness from the website, but any weirdness we didn’t put here ourselves, and we got a nice, fresh start. (It was so fresh that it might not include everything we intended; if you notice anything that’s not working right, please contact the webminion.) We missed being able to announce a couple of things in the meantime, but now we’re ready to carry on!

Happy GM’s Day!

GM’s Day is here, and Tabletop Adventures salutes all the people who run the games we all love to play. In fact, our company started because a couple of GMs said, “We have all this material we’ve developed for games over the years; we ought to be able to publish some of this and make some money.” (We’re slightly amused now by our former naiveté; of the many thousands of words we have published, only a few hundred of them were among those written before we started the company.)

We found ourselves making products we wished we had to use in our own games. Bits of the Boulevard was the solution to players who couldn’t just say, “We go to the blacksmith,” and carry on with the game. Instead, their characters wanted to know, “What do we see as we walk down the street?” Now, between Bits of the Boulevard and Shards of the City, we provide something like 275 interesting things to see or encounter in a fantasy city.

We say we provide “Help for the Harried Gamemaster,” because we know what it’s like to try to run a game (or two) and prepare in between work responsibilities, childcare, dealing with family issues, meal preparation, paying bills, running around town trying to take care of all the little things that take so much time, and so much more. (“Frankly, I’m swamped!”) We noticed, in our own games, that evocative description was one of the first things to go when time got tight and attention was pulled in too many directions.

That’s why we’re pleased to provide so many different types of descriptions, to make life easier for other harried gamemasters. Thank you, GMs, for all you give to make our collective recreation a reality. We’re privileged to publish material that we hope fires your imagination and makes your games better. Happy GM’s Day!
